Rottnest Express Ferry & Bike from Fremantle

About this experience

This is Rottnest Express's ferry and bike package from B Shed on Victoria Quay. The listing includes the return ferry, a bike, a helmet and the island admission fees, with a same-day return. The listing gives the day as about 7.5 hours and suggests a route: the southern bays first, then The Basin, Parakeet Bay and Little Armstrong Bay.

The bike handover is simple. Rottnest Express explains that your bike is loaded onto your ferry, the crew swap your voucher for it on the island jetty, and you drop it back at your departing ferry. Families get more choice than on the SeaLink package: kids' bikes suit ages 4 to 7, children from 7 can usually ride adult bikes, and bikes with baby seats can be requested in advance.

The listing warns that riding around the island takes about three to five hours, and that there is no drinking water or food outside Thomson Bay and Geordie Bay. Snorkel sets cost extra on the day. A Perth version of this package leaves from Barrack Street with a Swan River leg, if you would rather start in the city.

  • Bike, helmet and island admission included
  • Kids' bikes for ages 4 to 7, baby seats on request
  • Bike handed over on the island jetty
  • A suggested route via The Basin and the north shore bays
  • Free cancellation up to two days before

  • Snorkel sets are extra and paid on the day, so bring your own mask if you have one.
  • Ride to the west end in the morning, before the afternoon sea breeze picks up.
  • Wear sunscreen and a long-sleeved top. Shade is scarce on the west end.
